My name is Natalie Bucsko and I am running to represent the 24th District in the Georgia State House of Representatives.
Feminist. Fighter. Wife. Mother. Coach. Writer.
At the upper-end of the Millennial Generation, I remember a time without smartphones and social media. But they also appeared at an age that made it easy to adopt. I grew up in the 90s, with all the neon and crimped hair that entails. Though I have lived in 9 states, I have lived in Georgia the longest, and I am honored to run to represent Forsyth County.
I graduated from Londonderry High School in Londonderry, NH, with plans to join the US Marine Corps. I enlisted 2 days after 9/11, which happened at the beginning of my senior year. Military service is in my blood. My father was an intelligence officer in the Navy, several of my uncles served, both of my grandparents did, my great-grandfather was a POW during WWII. A knee injury unfortunately kept me from serving my country in the military.
In 2011 I graduated Kennesaw State University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in English. I have since worked in Marketing and as a freelance writer. I received the Highest Award of Achievement at the end of the 12-week Dale Carnegie training course I took in 2019, an award voted on by my classmates and that I am truly honored to have received.
My husband Jake and I have been married since 2015 and we have four daughters. Our youngest, Guinevere, is 5 years old. My stepdaughters Emma and Lily are 13 and my stepdaughter Grace is 10. We love to spend time as a family playing games, going camping, visiting Zoo Atlanta, watching sports and movies, and playing outside, especially with our sweet dog Boo Radley. I have coached all of my stepdaughters in Forsyth County Rec Softball and look forward to more coaching in the future. We also spend a lot of time with our extended family, who live in Georgia, Texas, Florida, Arizona, California, New York and Israel.
I am a passionate cook and baker and spend my time perfecting new techniques in the kitchen. I recently began learning to make bread from scratch and hope to add a few more things to my repertoire in 2020! I am also an avid reader and big sports fan. I recently discovered the Georgia Swarm lacrosse games and enjoy cheering them on at games.
As a woman and a mother of four daughters, issues that impact women are deeply important to me. Beyond that, being able to give a voice to the voiceless and amplify voices that are too easily shouted down influence my positions on many issues faced here in Forsyth. I am here for Forsyth. For the future. For everyone.
